Drama Editorial Review

The movie "Ammonite" features a plot that follows Mary Anning, one of the early paleontologists, and Charlotte Murchison, the wife of geologist Roderick Murchison. The film explores the lesbian relationship between these two characters while highlighting the role of women in the field of paleontology and their struggles for recognition in a largely male-dominated area. Viewers are likely to enjoy the acting performances of Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan, with the lush scenery and foreboding atmosphere setting the mood effectively. The love scene between the two women may not be for everyone, but it adds an important element to the movie, serving as a representation of the experiences that some viewers may not have seen on the big screen before. Some viewers might find the movie slow and dismal in terms of pacing, but overall, it is worth a watch.
