The Adaptec RAID 6405E Storage Controller is a popular choice for people building servers. It's a fast RAID operation that comes with a good feature set with many options and sizes to choose from. Windows 10 is supported and can handle up to 6TB hard drives. However, it only supports RAID 0, 1, 1E and 10 so it does not support 4x4TB drives in RAID-5 yielding 12TB. A mini-sas to 4xsata cable is included with the card. The CPU-assisted cards can get hot, and the array building can be slow. The Adaptec offerings on the website are a little hard to find.
