However, there is a learning curve to using this tool, as it is dangerous if not used correctly. The torque is powerful and can yank arms out of their sockets if not handled properly. It is recommended to use YouTube for guidance on how to use it safely. The auger digs about 42 inches, but it cannot be used with a Hilti TE 800. The auger did not drill 30 inches deep for one customer, who couldn't find an extension bit to extend the depth of the hole and could not contact customer service and returned the unit to purchase a gas unit instead.
