Opening with a concise history of the fashion house founded by Hubert de Givenchy, the book then explores the collections of his successors, including John Galliano; Alexander McQueen; Riccardo Tisci, who took the brand into a resolutely contemporary direction; Clare Waight Keller, the first woman to hold the position of artistic director; and American designer Matthew M. Williams, who joined the house in the summer of 2020.   Each era of Givenchy’s history is explored through a brief overview and biography of the lead designer, while individual collections are introduced by short texts examining their influences and highlights, illustrated with carefully curated catwalk images.
