The Camalapse 4 is a simple and affordable option for taking time-lapse videos. It rotates 360-degrees in either 15, 30, 45 or 60-minute increments, and can hold cameras up to 5lbs. However, it's not recommended for all camera types, and DSLRs may require a balance plate. With standard 1/4" threaded mount screw, a tripod adapter or stand is required for use with smartphones, action sports cameras or other lightweight cameras. The device is not waterproof, although it should be fine with light rain. While it makes some noise, it's not too loud, and it only rotates counter-clockwise. There have been reports of the device breaking easily, and the ticking sound sounding like a bomb which sometimes draws unwanted attention. However, it is recommended for use where noise is not an issue, and is highly recommended to be used on a sturdy tripod in a low wind environment. Overall, it's a great value for the price point and can be used for time-lapse videos.
